Chrysoula Apartments With Thomas Cook

From Lorna For Her Holiday In October 2009.

Very disppointed with these apartments. Ended up in the most awful block (A) which was obviously one of the older blocks. No towel changes (had to request for this to be done). No daily clean as stated in brochure. Family that ran the place most unfreindly & not helpful at all. Always had to instigate a smile & conversation.

Overpriced bar & no kids portions available!! Arrivals & departures mainly late at night & no reception area. If you had a late flight going back you had to wait in the poolside bar for your coach to arrive.

Nearly every person I met had a complaint about these apartments.

Each block is of a completely different standard. No consistency which is a bit unfair if you end up in one of the older blocks.

One of the worst apartments I have stopped in.

We stayed in Block B which was as the brochure described. The pool/bar area was excellent as was the food and the family very nice and friendly. On one evening the family have a free pasta night and on another evening they have a barbecue/quiz night which cost 10 euros each but was very nice.

Jim's supermarket is directly across the road and there is a small cafe called Tea for Two (T42) just down the road. There are plenty restaurants along the way to the harbour, two of our favourites being Hippocrates and Hubs.

All in all it was a very pleasurable holiday.

We had a good apartment that was cleaned every day. The Swimming pool is fantastic, our boys spent many happy days in the water, and enjoyed Chrysoula's chips and fresh orange juice.

Jim's supermarket is a great shop that is always open, the staff in the shop are really great and like all Greeks, so friendly, you won't want to leave the place. If you go into Kos town, just follow the road out towards Pisali and you can see the water park, which is a great day out in itself, then carry on down the road and you will come to the Therma Springs which is a must!

Old Kefalos is great and just a bus ride from the Chrysoula Apartments, be sure to visit the coffee shop with the blue door and Greek flags outside.

Overall the Chrysoula Apartments are ok. Clean and spacious we were in block the newer block 'D'. One drawback we noticed was that arrivals and departures always seem to be in the middle of the night! The food and drink at the pool bar was good, if not a bit on the pricy side!

The Apartments are well away from the main resort and its a 25 minute walk to the harbour. Not much in the way of shopping locally. We went on a day trip to Turkey, for around 80 euros. This was with the Thomas Cook rep.

Overall, the Chrysoula Apartments were ideal for us. All we wanted was a relaxing holiday with some guaranteed sunshine - and that is what we got. Cannot fault this accommodation for the relaxing atmosphere it offered us.

From Janet Pembridge For Her Holiday In August 2008.

We stayed in Block E of the Chrysoula Apartments on the ground floor. Our apartment was clean and we had a fridge, toaster, kettle and iron which all worked very well. We also had a decent balcony. The toilet and shower worked well and are typically Greek wet floors etc. The towels and bed linen were changed twice in 2 weeks.

The main items that let we felt let down the Chrysoula Apartments were that for starters, the guest changeovers were in the early hours of the morning and were really noisy with little respect for the guests who were asleep. Secondly, the apartment owners are only visible on changeover days when Chrysoula ensured she collected in the keys!

Compared to Kefalos, the prices at the apartments seemed expensive; we put this fact to the back of our minds and didn't let it ruin our experience. Overall the rooms were excellent. I used the main pool for the first week then found a local pool bar were we were made to feel very special.

We were in block C which was typical of the self catering type of apartments found most resorts offering basic cooking facilities with a microwave oven, table, shower, toilet etc. Our apartment was cleaned fairly regularly, with towels changed twice a week.. Our beds were incredibly hard; they consisted of a rock hard mattress on top of a base with wooden slats across, very uncomfortable.

The pool area at the Chrysoula Apartments was very clean and the pool itself very large. There are more than enough sun-beds to go round so there was no mad scramble in the mornings to secure one. If you like to chill out round the pool all day, this is the place for you.

The Chrysoula Apartments are out of the main resort. All in all, you get what you pay for with holidays, and this is a reasonable place for a cheap holiday.
